Assistant Chief Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Hotel is looking for a professionally energetic Assistant Chief Engineer. The applicant should have excellent internal and external customer service skills, prior Engineering experience, and the ability to handle complex duties and tasks.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•Maintaining the buildings DDC KMC programming systems.
•Maintaining all key lock systems including Vingcard
•All distribution systems for electricity, water, steam, gas, etc.
•Maintaining and operating air conditioning, heating, ventilation, refrigeration systems, safety and security systems.
•Maintaining buildings and grounds.
•Monitoring and coordinating the services performed by outside contractors in accordance with all contracts, leases, service agreements, and warranties.
•Ensuring timely response to requests for services by guests, employees, and management.
•Scheduling all work to be done on a daily basis at a minimum of inconvenience to guests and employees.
• Planning, implementing, and administering an effective preventive maintenance program in accordance with good engineering practices.
•Maintaining appropriate equipment operating logs.
•Educating other operating departments in energy management.
•Assisting in the preparation of capital expenditures and maintenance budgets.
•Selecting vendors and contractors that meet quality standards and pricing specifications
•Training and supervising subordinates and assisting in safety and emergency training for other employees.
•Conducting on-going inspection of the building's fire and safety laws.
•Maintaining a clean and orderly work area free of hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Skilled in the use of related instruments and tools - including voltohm meter, hand tools, gas leak detectors and small power tools.
•Previous experience of DDC KMC programming, refrigeration, plumbing, air conditioning, power and mechanical trades with hotels or similar large buildings like hospitals.
•A plumbing and/or electrical certificate(s) is desirable.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates.
