Entry Level General Maintenance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel. Work areas will be assigned as needed based on the associates skill level and experience.

Respond to guest room calls, in a timely manner, as required.

Ensure all safety systems are operable.

Understand and perform basic construction methods and materials, i.e., grading, masonry, carpentry and demolition skills.

Accurate record keeping of assigned tasks is required.

All other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer, including, assisting other departmental craft workers as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Occasionally will have to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10F) and kitchens (+110F), possibly for one hour or more.

The worker is subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high hear or exposure to chemicals.

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours.

Must exert well-paced ability to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular and continuing basis, 50 lbs on a frequent basis and 100 lbs occasionally.

Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.

Post secondary education studies in a related field desired, high school or equivalent education required.

Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Starwood standards.

Forklift driving skills desirable but not necessary.
-
Prior related experience desired.
